| The mortgage code came into effect
for intermediaries on 1st May 1998 and is a voluntary code
to which our company subscribes. The code sets minimum
standards of good lending and advisory practice which are to
be followed by all lenders and mortgage intermediaries.
James Cargill re registered with the
mortgage code and our registration number is 5693689.
We constantly review the mortgage market
in order to select the appropriate lenders to meet your
individual circumstances. We have access to all the leading
mortgage lenders who consistently provide good products and
levels of service.
Under the terms of the mortgage code there
are three levels of service available. These are:
- Full advice and
recommendation
- Information on
different types of mortgage products available to allow you
to make an informed choice
- Information on a
single mortgage product only where no advice is given
It is our policy to work with a large
number of lenders and to provide you with information and
product detail to enable you to make an informed decision as
to the most appropriate mortgage to suit your personal
circumstances. We do not provide advice.
We will provide you with information
relevant to your mortgage needs and the implications of
taking out a mortgage.
James Cargill receives a fee in
recognition of the work we do on your behalf. We will advise
you of all fee payable to the company of £250 and above. If
the fees are less than £250 we will inform you in writing
that a fee has been paid to the company.
We will treat all your personal
information as private and confidential ( even when you are
no longer a customer) except where disclosure is made at
your request or with your consent in relation to arranging a
mortgage.
The mortgage code compliance board ( MCCB
) regulates the mortgage code to which we subscribe. As part
of the MCCB's duties we may be asked to provide them with
access to our customers records in order that they can carry
out an audit of our activities. The MCCB's ability to
inspect customer records promotes best practice in our
industry and ensures that you continue to receive the best
possible service from us. If we disclose your personal
records to the MCCB they will only use it for the purpose of
compliance with the mortgage code and not for any
other reason. If you would not like us to disclose any of
your information to the MCCB then please write to us within
21 days of today's date informing us.
Our aim is to provide a first class
professional and confidential service. Should a complaint
arise, in the first instance you should write to our
mortgage code compliance officer at

Thereafter should the complaint not be
resolved to your satisfaction, we will assist you in
